Back to School

QUT this year launches its expanded School of Design within the Creative Industries faculty - a coup for Creative Industries students, cultural and creative industries professionals and all artsy types alike. The SS girls were lucky to snap up an invite to the School of Design students only launch party, being held tomorrow night at the beautiful Lightspace in Fortitude Valley. With promises of some excellent door prizes ( furniture, Adobe Creative suite etc) and actually-worth-your-time gift bags, the night looks to be an exciting insight into the Brisbane creative scene, along with a worthwhile networking exercise. After writing about the launch of Ksubi back in January, Kellie and I were intrigued to hear about the new kid on the James Street master-planned block - the Melbourne luxe eyewear boutique ONEPOINTSEVENFOUR (named after the highest grade of lense for optical frames, fun fact).

All clothing was sourced from the Bunker Boutique (apart from my Ellery collar - which seems to magically enhance every outfit it's teamed with). NEW ZEALAND

The 'across the tasman sea' rivalry really is an outdated concept, perpetuated only by the occasional contentious rugby or netball match. In honour of New Zealand Fashion Festival (24 Feb - 4 March), I'm sharing a bunch of my favourite fashion industry luminaries who reside in the luscious green isle. New Zealand, you've got it going on.
